This is a newly created operational and compliance focused Transport Manager role based in Egham, Surrey. Key responsibilities will be to make sure transport operations are safe, efficient, compliant and robust including vehicle maintenance, managing drivers, negotiating with suppliers, keeping up to date with the latest legislation and review of process and key efficiencies.

This role comes at a time where we are experiencing high growth in the business and will require someone to think on their feet and grow the fleet significantly over the next 12 months.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in an SME, owner managed business, who enjoys working with people and wants to make a real difference to those around them.

4th Dimension Innovation is a motorcycle specialist working end-to-end on first and third party claims handling, logistics, engineering and repair, supplier network management and much more. We have been established since 2003 and now employ 300 people. We are currently in a hugely exciting time with large growth planned in many areas of the business and this Fleet Manager will certainly play a huge part in our next steps.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Main Duties
  2. Manage all day-to-day operational aspects of fleet management.
  3. Ensure engagement of existing policies, process and procedures.
  4. Identify policies, processes and procedures that require to be reviewed or created and assist with the drafting and implementation.
  5. Ensure that the Transport department is operating in accordance with the latest legislation and regulations.
  6. Ensure that the fleet of vehicles is operating in accordance with the latest legislation and regulations.
  7. Analysis, reporting, budgeting, supervising and support in negotiating.
  8. Work closely with the Hire Fleet and Logistics leadership team to develop strategies for improved efficiency.
  9. Manage strict vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimise downtime.
  10. Maintain accurate and detailed records of vehicle inspections and services.
  11. Monitoring fleet costs.
  12. Ensure high standards of Safety, Quality and Environment are met at all times and embed Safety as the highest priority in all Fleet Management activities.
  13. Point of contact for all drivers: day to day, holidays, sickness.
  14. Monitoring driver’s hours.
  15. Providing leadership by example acting as a role model.
  16. Defining and communicating clear objectives

Experience/Qualifications/Skills

  1. 3 - 5 years experience in Fleet or Transport Management
  2. 3 years + experience of managing a team of drivers
  3. 3 years + experience of running both compliant and operational part of the business
